Data Controller

UBL Buddy is provided by:

KipKap Comm.V Amazonedreef 31 8200 Brugge Belgium

Company number: BE 0805.436.530 Email: privacy@ublbuddy.app

Our Promise

UBL Buddy is designed with privacy as a core principle. Your invoices and personal data always stay on your own device. We only collect anonymous crash reports to improve the app.

What the app does NOT collect

  • No personal information
  • No invoice data or financial information — your invoices stay on your device
  • No location data
  • No device identifiers
  • No advertising or marketing tracking

What the app DOES collect

Local statistics (stays on your device)

  • Number of opened documents — used to show your usage, never leaves your computer

Error reporting (Sentry)

  • Anonymous crash reports when something goes wrong
  • Helps us fix bugs and improve stability
  • Contains no invoice content or personal data
  • Lawful basis: legitimate interest (Art. 6.1.f GDPR) to improve the app and fix bugs

How the app works

UBL Buddy is a privacy-first application. All your invoices are processed locally on your own device. No invoice data is sent to external servers — only anonymous crash reports when errors occur.

  • Your UBL/XML files remain on your device
  • Payment details are sent directly to your banking app via QR codes or deep links
  • No account required
  • No internet connection required to view invoices

Local data processing

When you open an invoice in UBL Buddy, the data from the UBL/XML file is read to display it in a readable format. This processing takes place exclusively on your device. The lawful basis for this is performance of a contract (Art. 6.1.b GDPR) — you explicitly request the app to perform this action.

Retention periods

The app does not store copies or cache your invoices. Files remain on your device until you delete them yourself through your file system.

International transfers

No international transfer of personal data takes place. All data processing happens locally on your device.

Automated decision-making

UBL Buddy does not use automated decision-making or profiling.

App Store purchases

If you purchase UBL Buddy Premium, the payment is processed by Apple through the App Store. Apple’s privacy policy applies to these transactions. We do not receive any payment details or personal information from Apple — only an anonymous confirmation that the purchase was completed.
